Earlier this year, a little gray kitten was rescued by a good Samaritan when she found him from an online post. He was all alone and in dire need of rescue.

Un Chat à la fois (Cat at a Time), a volunteer-run cat rescue in Quebec, Canada, did not hesitate to take him in. The kitten, named Félix, was an estimated five weeks old. “He had a stomach full of worms, which is why he was so small for his age,” said Marie Simard, founder of One Cat at a Time, to Love Meow.

He came with a variety of health problems and soon after his arrival became really frail and sick. Meg, a rescue volunteer, came in to help so Félix could begin his healing process in a loving home.

Meg has a full house full of animals – dogs, cats, rats, and even chickens in the yard. A few months before they found Félix, one of their dogs, Chucky, sadly died. Casper the puppy, Chucky’s best friend, was heartbroken.

Then Felix stepped into the house with his paw and just felt at home. He immediately exuded such self-confidence and blended into the large family with flying colors.

Within a short period of time, they noticed the chemistry between the new kitten and Casper – the cute puppy was instantly impressed by his tiny cat friend.

When Casper met Félix, the two friends quickly bonded. They started cuddling, playing with each other, and sharing a bed at night.

Félix wrestled Casper’s tail and nibbled his ears and toes. “Casper loves it and lets him do what he wants,” Marie told Love Meow.

“Casper was tied to Félix. He had lost his morning matchmate and bedtime cuddle friend, but it wasn’t long before Félix took that place.”

The rest of the furry crew also took the little newcomer under their wing. The local cats showed him the ropes and let him cuddle up to them whenever he needed a cuddle party.

Félix was friendly to everyone he met and quickly became an integral part of the family.

Runty the tabby became Félix’s mentor, taught the boy how to be a real cat and let him put his arms around him whenever he wanted.

“Félix always runs around and makes the sweetest meows when he’s overly excited. He’s not afraid of anything,” said Meg.

Gunner, The cute 7 year old dog was so happy to share a blanket with this little cat friend.

When it came time to find Félix a place of her own, they knew the kitten had already found it.

“Félix was officially adopted by his foster family. Everyone knew he had been part of the family from day one,” shared Marie Love Meow.

The tiny bundle of lint then liked to follow Trunks (the cat) through the kitchen. Months later, some things never change.
