A palm-sized kitten was found alone in a bush with no mother. A friendly woman heard their screams and knew she had to help.
A Good Samaritan from Canada heard the screams of a kitten from outside one night. During an examination, she found a small kitten all alone in a bush. Little calico was about a day old with no mother in sight.
Knowing that newborn babies would have the best chance of thriving with a nursing mother, she decided to leave them there and wait for the mother to return. Many hours later there was no sign of the mother cat.
When dawn came the hungry kitten was still crying alone. The kind lady picked her up, took her inside, and asked her congregation for help.
A local rescuer, Frédérique, entered and safely transported the kitten to Chaton’s Orphelins Montréal after a 1.5-hour drive. “The kitten was so hungry that it went straight to the bottle when it arrived,” the rescue team told Love Meow.
“We named the kitten Carla. She was left shortly after she was born. Our bottle-feeding caregiver brought her home and fed her 24/7 every two hours.”
The small singleton was only the size of a Q-tip. She perked up overnight as she suckled the food to her heart’s content. “Although she had no vision at that age, she was able to use her sense of smell to find her bottle. She knew her caretaker by her touch and smell.”
Little Carla gained weight and strength. Every time she was around, she dressed her foster mother. In the second week of her life, her eyes opened and she could see the world for the first time.
Once her legs were strong enough, she ventured out of her comfortable nest to explore her surroundings. After each feeding, she happily rolled onto her back and enjoyed a few abdominal massages.
Her foster family celebrates every milestone with her. When she took her first steps and learned to paddle it made her so proud.
Carla begins to develop her hearing as her ears expand. She has grown into a happy, chonky kitten and has a cute, round belly to flaunt.
“She loves her bottle and is plump and healthy. Carla is lively and active. She is an early beginner and has managed to climb onto the couch with no problems,” said the rescue.
“We often find her between two pillows taking a nap in the warmth.”
Carla is quite talkative and can have a long conversation with her foster family. She meows for her humans when she demands their attention or simply asks for a snack.

“This little kitten is one of the lucky ones. She was found newborn without a mother and rescued just in time.”
Since then, Carla has grown into a beautiful kitten with an adorable personality.
The cute calico will keep improving their feline skills and will soon be running around creating antics.
Nothing makes her happier than getting a few abdominal massages while kneading on a soft blanket.
Carla soaks up the love of her foster family and is the spoiled, happy little kitten she should always be.
