Two kittens tied together and found huddled together in a garden had made their dream come true.
Earlier this year, a Good Samaritan woman from Montreal, Canada was taking a walk in a community garden when she spotted two tiny kittens with no mother cat in sight.
They were very scared and huddled together for comfort. The finder looked around for the mother and other kittens but found none. Couldn’t leave the couple out to fend for herself, so she picked them up and reached for help.
Alyson, an animal lover, replied immediately and offered to take her. She brought the hungry little kittens home and started bottle feeding them.
She then contacted her local rescue, Chatons Orphelins Montréal, so that the kittens could get the care they needed and the chance of a forever loving home.
The kittens Sylvestre (the darker gray, fluffier one) and Effie were about three weeks old and only skin and bones. They clung to each other and refused to be separated. Alyson stayed up a few nights to make sure they were fed and cared for around the clock – the careful efforts brought the kittens back to health.
“Alyson made sure the kittens kept gaining weight every day before they were brought to our rescue,” said Celine Crom of Chatons Orphelins Montréal Love Meow.
The cute kittens came out of their bowls and learned to eat solid food, use the litter box and even climb the scratching post. They did everything together. “They adapted so well to indoor life. When we took them into our care when we were six weeks old, they were plump kittens.”
The brother and sister duo have an amazing bond.
They are each other’s greatest cheerleader and they never explore other places or play with a toy without sharing the experience with their best friend.
Napping is always a two-kitten affair, and they rub each other together in such adorable ways.
When Sylvestre asks his people for attention, Effie comes running and demands it too.
“They are cute, loving kittens. They like to follow their humans together and play with each other all the time – running around the room or climbing up the scratching post,” added Celine.
Effie is a sweetheart who likes to seek affection from people. She has a cute little purr motor that turns on every time she cuddles.
Sylvestre is the sociable and wild little brother who is always on the lookout for mischief.
“The two kittens were very close from the start. We often find them up on the scratching post and they do almost everything together,” shared Celine Love Meow.
“They love to run in a row and play hide and seek in a tunnel.”
When it came time to find her home forever, rescue knew it was a package and could not be separated.
After waiting weeks for the right home, a wonderful family met them and fell head over heels in love with the couple.
Sylvestre and Effie were officially adopted together that day and their dream finally came true.
The little garden kittens have developed into beautiful, fluffy cuddly bugs.
