Hydroseeding your grass will only be the start. It will take some TLC to ensure that your newly sown piece of land thrives.

Hydroseed is best watered three times daily, for about 10 to 20 minutes, for three waterings per day.

The ideal time for watering is 4:00 AM, 11:00 AM, and 4:45 PM. Do not water after the sun sets.

Variations in temperature and seasons permit flexible watering schedules. When summer is hotter, it is recommended to be able to water more often and for longer periods; while during the cooler autumn months, you'll need to water less often and with a shorter cycle.

Some areas of the lawn will begin to sprout after 10-14 days have passed since planting. The grass will be cut within 6-8 weeks. Within 6 to 9 months, the lawn will be fully developed.

Avoid driving through areas that have been seeded for the first six weeks as much as possible.

Some areas may do better during the first couple of weeks of hydroseeding Massachusetts treatment due to different amounts of shade, sunshine, and water. This is normal. It is recommended to water between dusk and dawn to avoid excessive evaporation from the sun.

The water should not pool in any area. It is best to wash the lawn by hand until it is established.

Sprinkler systems can be designed to water multiple times per day for a limited period of time, if they are not currently watering themselves.

Lawn Fertilization

Mowing

Your lawn will be mowed when the grass blades exceed 40mm in height and the ground has dried. To be sure to avoid "scalping" the new grass blades, trimming at the proper height is essential. In the best case, you'll need to remove a third of the grass blade. You can use a standard mower for the initial five to six times you mow the grass prior to switching to a mulching mower. The lawn should be mowed twice a week in the spring and during summer when the grass is overgrowing.
